Pictures of Breweries and Distilleries
I'll be adding to this page slowly. I've visited a lot of breweries and distilleries, and worked in a few as well, but never took too many pictures. I'll scan some in as well!
Me at the Johnnie Walker Plant
This is a picture of the plant I worked in as an engineer in Kilmarnock, Scotland.
North British Distillery
This is a continuous grain distillery in Scotland. It produces 10 Kilolitres an hour of roughly 95% proof spirit that will subsequently be used in vodka, gin or whisky production.
The distillery was owned partially by my Company Guinness/UDV.
Maybe I'm just way too big a nerd, but I love the shot of Coffey still on the right.
Caledonian Brewery
The Caledonian Brewery is an Edinburgh institution. They do lots of traditional brewing using antique equipment and method. The beer is excellent.
They bought us a LOT of free beer when we payed them a visit!
Belhaven Brewery
Belhaven is another traditional brewery in Scotland. They export a lot of beer to the United States, and I was very familiar with their products before I moved to Scotland.
Edradour Distillery
The very smallest commercial distillery in Scotland (the one I did some of my research on was smaller). Whisky's good too (better than the stuff i made in the lab).
The Brewing Lab at Heriot-Watt
Pictured are some resident lab rats and my fellow students.
